so we drank many cups of chai with milk and sugar and waited for the bus .

now when the bus came we got on and made sure the bags went on the rack on the roof and then we were off to quetta . about 3 or 4 in the afternoon and it left almost on time . so from karachi at three or four it took until 11 a.m. the next day to get to quetta . it was dusty and cold and bumpy and dark and rough and dry .
